About Us
OUR STORY
As far back as I can remember, I’ve wanted to be a farmer. My life has always included agriculture. At its peak, my operation consisted of around 1,500 acres of GMO corn, soybeans, wheat, and grain sorghum. Each year, it got harder to survive with rising input costs and stagnant grain prices. By the fall of 2019, the farm life and career I loved had ended. My wife and I prayed and took our future one day at a time. I was determined to find a way for us to farm again. I began trying to think of an agricultural niche market that had potential. I finally decided that growing popcorn was something I was good at, and there was a substantial market for what I could produce. In the spring of 2020, we planted a small plot of organic, non-GMO, heirloom popcorn on the family farm where Pop Yuncker had taught me to grow crops nearly 40 years before.

Practices
I choose to grow our popcorn as Pop Yuncker taught me to honor him and my ancestors who farmed before him. Growing organic crops is no easy task since we don’t use synthetic fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides, or fungicides. Instead, we rely on crop rotations and control weeds manually. Our yields may not be as large as the commercial producers, but our popcorn flavor and quality are the best.
